5.4. LO4-Trip to open

Last week, we went to OPEN in Norwich to learn about the creative and media industries. We had 6 different categoreis that were talked about, each for an hour max. The catergories consisted of music, performance, dance, graphic design and animation. I found the whole day quite interesting, but would of rathered they had included more practical work for us as we just listened to people talking all day. I enjoyed dance and performance the best, and I came away with idea's of what I would like to do in my future. I think the day overall was a success.

Advert for our campaign.

Our advert;

Scene One: (black and white)
A young girl lying in a hospital bed, her mum gets told by the doctors her daughter may not live for much longer due to a serious terminal illness. We see the doctor walk away, and the mother cry.

Scene Two:
A man dumps a bag of donations outside a charity shop and it turns to colour and a ‘kerching’ noise plays.

Scene Three:
The girl gets out of bed happily because she now has enough money to go on a day out with her family and she immediately steps into a park and she is running along holding balloons with her family.

Scene Four:
The man who dumps the donations stands up and says: ‘Look how easy it is to put a smile on a child’s face’. And ‘don’t wait, go donate’ appears on the screen.

5.4-To be able to moniter the preperation and conduct of a campaign-Quidenham Hospice.

Today we went into Wymondham town centre and went into see our campaign charity to ask how we could help improve the amount of donations they get. We started off introducing ourselves and made it clear where we came from and why we were here. We then moved onto asking them a few questions like what they would like more of and if theres anything they would like on the posters and leaflets we will be making and they were eager to mention gift aid and keep there logo. They also told us they don't just want a certain item, they want everything they can get, they even sell electrical goods. When we interviewed some off the voulenteers we asked what they liked about working there, all of them said because they meet lots of new people.

5.4.LO4-Needlework Shop.

Today we went into Wymondham town centre and visited our shop, needlework. We asked the manager Janice Alms some questions about her shop. The questions varied from what the shop sells, to where the shop acctually gets the products from, and whether they get it imported from different countries. We found out the shop has been running for 33 years and buy there products off a seperate company who get the products imported from Germany. They sell just about everything you would expect for a shop like this, wool, net curtains, dress fabrics, patch work cottens, embroidery threats and more. When we went into the shop, there were more customersd than we expected, as one left, another one came in.. So it is quite a popular shop.
