The research into our charity shop and how the trip influenced my shoe design.

Needlework shop.
  • Wymondham Needleworks is a retail needlework business.
  • They have been in business for over 24 years and have had a website for 10 years.
  • It is a small company owned by Carl and Lydia Reed, with a little help from friends some of the time.
  • They sell everything from wool to net curtains.
  • Mr Cole says he use to go to the shop as a kid!
How the shop influenced the design of my shoe.
After visiting the shop, I used the idea from some of some of the curtains which were patterned. For the heel I will use wool wrapped round a cotton reel. So the shop really gave me some idea's.

5.4.LO4-Needlework Shop.

Today we went into Wymondham town centre and visited our shop, needlework. We asked the manager Janice Alms some questions about her shop. The questions varied from what the shop sells, to where the shop acctually gets the products from, and whether they get it imported from different countries. We found out the shop has been running for 33 years and buy there products off a seperate company who get the products imported from Germany. They sell just about everything you would expect for a shop like this, wool, net curtains, dress fabrics, patch work cottens, embroidery threats and more. When we went into the shop, there were more customersd than we expected, as one left, another one came in.. So it is quite a popular shop.

5.4.LO4-How I think I am doing in Artefact.

I think i'm doing well in artefact mostly because I love art, and at the moment we are designing shoes and will be making them which i'm really looking forward too. I am really enjoying this topic and can't wait until we acctually start making the shoes:) what didn't go to well was having to print things off, because I can't at home and I don't go to Wymondham High so I can't drop it off to anybody during the week. But I am looking to buying a memory stick, so this problem shouldn't carry on.
